Duane Sherrill photo This vehicle driven by Tamara Demumbrum slammed into the side of a pickup driven by Rosa Perkins as Perkins was trying to turn into Dollar General in Morrison on Tuesday.

A crash in front of Morrison’s Dollar General store Tuesday evening sent one driver to the hospital and left the other with a ticket for failure to yield.

The injured driver, Tamara Demumbrum of Manchester, was taken by ambulance to Manchester Medical Center for treatment of noncritical injuries. The other driver, Rosa Perkins, 78, of Morrison was cited at the scene for failing to yield the right of way.

According to Highway Patrolman Wade Myers, the wreck happened as Perkins was trying to make a left turn from Manchester Highway into the parking lot of Dollar General in her 2005 Chevy Silverado. In doing so, she entered the path of an oncoming 2001 Cadillac DeVille driven by Demumbrum and was hit broadside.

Perkins escaped serious injury.
