A man was wounded this past week when a bullet went off in a bonfire, striking him in the shoulder. The man, Brad McCormick showed up at St. Thomas River Park Hospital Thursday afternoon, complaining of the bullet wound. “He said he was burning some brush and he forgotten there had been some old ammo thrown into the pile,” said Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tommy Myers of how McCormick suffered the injury. “It appears one of the rounds went off and lodged in his back.”Although McCormick was released after treatment, he was not free to go home and recuperate.
