A Warren County man claims he woke up to every homeowner’s worst nightmare -- an armed robber standing in his bedroom.
Ronald Cole Pratt, 23, has been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery in connection with a home invasion armed robbery that occurred Nov. 9 at a Vinewood Road apartment complex.
“The victim stated he woke up at about 3 p.m. to find a man standing in his bedroom,” said McMinnville Police Lt. Ben Cantrell. “He works the night shift, so he sleeps during the day. The man then brandished a firearm and said, ‘I’m going to need your wallet and your cellphone.’ The victim complied. The man took the items and left.”
The victim was able to identify the man he said robbed him at gunpoint.
“He recognized the man as one of his son’s acquaintances,” said Cantrell. “Mr. Pratt was arrested in Coffee County. He had a stolen firearm in his possession.”
Without a landline telephone or another cellphone handy, the victim drove from his home to a local business to call for emergency assistance.
Pratt is being held at Warren County Jail on $25,000 bond. His first court appearance is set for Dec. 8.
