A man has been given six months in jail for waving a gun at an apartment complex and then trying to flush drugs down the toilet.The man, Joseph Michael Perrigan, 25, had charges of tampering with evidence and reckless endangerment with a firearm dismissed, but entered guilty pleas to charges of possession of a weapon by a felon and simple possession of marijuana. He will be allowed into adult recovery court during his four years on probation. He was also directed by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to forfeit his weapon and pay $250 plus costs.Police responded to Country Place Apartments on Yager Road in response to calls of a man waving a gun around the crowded complex.“The man had come out of an apartment and pointed a handgun,” said McMinnville Police Lt. Bill Davis.“Officers discovered him hiding in a bathroom,” Davis reported, adding a 25-caliber pistol was found in his back pocket.Police also found drugs on him, the lieutenant said, adding he tried to get rid of the evidence.
