You can’t have a Community Christmas without a great community.

On Saturday, Lucky CIC held a Christmas in the park extravaganza at Lucky CIC. The event was a spectacle of lights, music and fun, complete with live entertainment and live animals.

The nativity scene was provided by a family who moved from Florida a couple years ago. The scene was set under a beautiful light display that resembled the star of Bethlehem.

On the basketball court, organizers and volunteers made their own “ice-skating” rink. Some people brought their roller skates to show off their moves on the rink. Local singers and people of the community performed live for the spectators. People grabbed their hot chocolate and popcorn and enjoyed the festivities.

Emma Pedigo is a longtime Lucky community member. She’s lived in Lucky her whole life, which is 99 years.

She said, “My favorite thing at the event is the popcorn, but it’s just a little too salty.” She laughed as she continued eating the popcorn before going to get her picture made.

On the other side of the park, you could get your photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus on the porch. The event ran smoothly and created a festive atmosphere during the holiday season.

You can support Lucky CIC through donations, volunteering and renting out the community center. On Fridays, there is karaoke with a $2 donation from 5 to 9 p.m.
