Magness Library will be continuing curbside pickup and laptop usage starting this Monday, Aug. 10.

The facility closed July 23 due to COVID-19 exposure.

According to library director Brad Walker, the building was professionally cleaned and all employees have tested negative.

“Due to the rise of COVID numbers and our recent closure, Magness Library and its Board of Directors, are committed to offering our services to the public, while ensuring the safety of our community and staff,” said Walker.

Operations have changed in an effort to offer the service in a safe manner:

• Only the rear door, where the ramp is located, will be open to the public.

• Books and other materials may be checked out by reserving them online through the card catalog or by calling 473-2428.

• Books and materials that are reserved will be checked out and placed on a table in the entrance hallway.

• Returns are to be placed in the book drop.

• Laptop usage will be by appointment only.

• To use a laptop, patrons will be required to present state or federal identification.

• Patrons using the laptops will be allowed to check them out for one hour and will be able to print.

• Wi-fi is available in the back parking lot.
