WCHS and WCMS students will soon have Smart Mouth – pizza, that is.
The county Financial Management Committee approved an expenditure of $159,744 to purchase equipment and food supplies from Bull’s Eye Brands. The company has been offering Smart Mouth pizza exclusively to schools since 2001.
Offer pizza and they will come, says Tom Willingham, who is the president and chief of Smart Mouth.
“We have what many consider an expertise when it comes to increasing the number of meals sold in today’s middle and high school lunch rooms,” said Willingham. “As school systems struggle to get their participation higher with teens, we utilize aggressive marketing in addition to our quality product which teens consider as good as what they could get in their favorite quick service restaurants.”
Smart Mouth offered a survey.
“In recent taste tests, 91 percent of teens surveyed said they liked our pizza better than their current offerings and 81 percent said they would eat in the cafeteria more often if Smart Mouth pizza was served,” said Willingham.
Warren County is piggybacking off a Smart Mouth pizza bid given to Sumner County.
