Christmas preparations are underway for Kids of the Community and sponsors are urgently sought as 170 children are still unsponsored.
Kids of the Community serves poverty-stricken and at-risk children of Warren County. For many, the gifts received through this effort may be the only gifts they receive.
There are different levels of sponsorship in which to choose:
Level 1 – Be a Gift Sponsor with a coat, shirts, pants and/ or jeans, a package of underwear, a pair of shoes and a package of socks, and a wish gift of their choice (toy, game, etc)
Level 2 – Be a Laundry Basket Sponsor with a basket, four bath towels, four wash clothes, 12-pack bath soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, toilet paper, Q-tips, shampoo, large container of laundry detergent, and feminine hygiene products.
Level 3 – Be a Stocking Sponsor by providing a child with a stocking filled with shampoo, conditioner, comb/ brush, stickers, deodorant, toy cars, toothpaste / toothbrush, cologne/ perfume, hair bows, candy, and razors and shaving cream for older children.
With such great need, Megan Dishman-Marttala of Kids of the Community has assisted with creating a new method to streamline the process by scanning a QR code and filling out the information.
“We feel this will get the information you need about sponsoring a child or family quicker than the way we used to do things,” said Christie Allison of Kids of the Community. “We have 170 children who qualified, so we desperately need your help. These children will be given gifts and shown that the true joy of Christmas comes from the power of giving. Please consider doing a sponsorship and make it a great Christmas for our kids. Thank you in advance. God bless you all.”
The donation deadline for gifts received at the Kids of the Community building at 681 Cadillac Lane is Dec. 11. For more information on other ways to make your donation, you can also contact Christie Allison at 931-273-5486, Lacey Jones at 931-668-5437, or 931-409-8917.
