Help provide the gift of warmth this winter by donating a new or gently used coat, scarf or gloves to be given away to those in need.

Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville, in partnership with the school system’s Family Resource Center, will be offering its Coats for the Community giveaway Nov. 6. Needed for the event are adult and children’s coats, scarves and gloves. New or gently used only.

“This is one of our community service projects,” said Ashley Roberts, Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville member. “If you are able to donate a coat, scarf or gloves, please notify us on our Facebook page.   Those donations are provided free of charge to the community. Help someone else stay warm this winter.”

COVID-19 precautions will be placed during the giveaway. To ensure the health and safety of everyone, JA is requesting everyone wear a mask while inside the gym. There will be hand sanitizer available throughout. A limit of 20 people will be allowed inside the gymnasium at any one time.

The 2021 Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville Coats for the Community giveaway will be held at West Elementary’s gymnasium on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon.
