Judicial Commissioner Rick Bond has resigned. The position will not be filled.
Bond has been a judicial commissioner for more than 12 years. His resignation will be effective Dec. 31.
The resignation was presented to members of the county Policy and Personnel Committee on Monday. In attendance with chair Ken Martin were Carlene Brown, Wayne Copeland, Charles Morgan and Tommy Savage.
“He’s just got a lot going on right now and he had to give it up,” said Martin. “I want to say on the record that Rick has been a wonderful employee. I’ve never had complaints on Rick. Rick wrote warrants for a long time. He was our senior judicial commissioner. I’m sorry to see Rick leave.”
Bond was a fill-in judicial commissioner, meaning he filled in for full- or part-time employees.
“I want to recognize that Rick has served many years and gave a lot of his time,” said Savage. “We need to let him know we appreciate his years of service. I’ve been with Rick places and someone would call him with questions and he always went out of his way to help.”
Judicial commissioner Jim Hartman, who oversees the work schedule, says a new judicial commissioner is not needed.
“We’re doing good right now on commissioners,” said Jim Hartman. “We have seven judicial commissioners and everyone is scheduled to work some amount of hours.”
Immediately following the committee’s unanimous acceptance of the resignation, the full Warren County Commission met and did the same with a vote of 21-0. Absent were Commissioners Gary Prater, David Rhea and Morris Bond.
