A man ran out of his shoes trying to outrun the law before he was caught in the Captain D’s parking lot.
The man, Tyler Judge, 21, has been ordered to serve one month in jail and a year on probation for evading arrest.
Judge, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for violation of probation, was spotted walking down Smithville Highway. McMinnville police officer Chris Odom blue-lighted the suspect and told him to stop in front of Captain D’s.
“He began cussing me as I told him he was under arrest,” Odom recalled, noting he ordered the suspect to place his hands behind his back to be handcuffed. “He continued cursing and ran, running out of his shoes down the hill toward the restaurant.”
However, Judge didn’t get far as he lost his footing. “He fell in the parking lot, trying to evade arrest,” the officer said.
His jail time for evading arrest will be served in addition to any other time he may owe. He must also pay a $50 plus court costs fine.
