A wreck downtown caused a parked car to be struck.
According to Officer Melanie McCormick with McMinnville Police Department, on Tuesday evening, Cheyenne Matthews, 27, was heading southbound on Spring St. in a white Honda Odyssey minivan. As she approached the intersection at E. Main St., a second vehicle was travelling eastbound.
Elfie Powell, 41, was driving a 1998 black Honda CRV heading east on E. Main St. As she was crossing the intersection, the Odyssey t-boned the CRV. Matthews struck the CRV before striking a parked car that was out of the lane of traffic.
The parked vehicle was a 2009 black Hyundai Genesis. The owner of the vehicle was eating at Collins River BBQ & Cafe at the time of the wreck. According to Officer McCormick, Matthews ran the red light before striking the CRV. Matthews also reportedly stated that she ran the red light.
No one was transported for injuries, and Matthews was cited for running the red light.
The wreck happened a few minutes before 6 p.m.
