Hopping into Health will be offered this Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This year’s location is the gymnasium ofWestElementary. Offered by Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville, Hopping into Health is geared toward the health and safety of children.
“We are excited to have this back for 2021,” said Dana Grissom, member Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville. “Last year’s was canceled due to COVID. This will be our fourth year. Everything is free. We hope children, as well as their parents, come out and enjoy themselves.” An alternative to the traditional Easter egg hunt, the fair is filled with eggtrafun activities, snacks, prizes and games.
Hopping into Health is a fair focused on the health and safety of children. In attendance will be police, fire and EMS employees, representatives from the Headstart program, games and challenges from Detention at the Elementary, Highland Rim Crossfit, Pioneer Pediatrics, and the Easter Bunny, the VIP of every Easter-related activity. The rabbit will hop into the event ready to pose for pictures.
“Cards will be given, like in Bingo,” said Grissom. “As children go from vendor to vendor, their cards will be stamped. When the card is full, it can be used to grab an Easter egg. That egg will have a number on it for a prize. We also have 10 to 15 door prizes that will be given away.”
Previously, plans were to hold some of the event outside. Mother Nature intervened.
“We were going to offer some of the event outside, but it doesn’t look like we can do that,” Grissom. “So, everything will be indoors. We still feel like we can social distance between vendors and offer a safe and fun event to the public.”
