A man has been bound to the grand jury for allegedly hitting his girlfriend in the head with a baseball bat during an argument.The suspect, Chad Eric Hinshaw, 34, was bound to the grand jury following hearing before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke on the charge of aggravated domestic assault. The crime carries three to six years in prison if he is convicted.The victim told lawmen her boyfriend became angry and that when she tried to leave the residence, he tried to prevent her from driving away in her car.“He dragged her out of her vehicle and forced her into his home and began yelling at her and pushed her several times,” said deputy Tyler Glenn of the assault.The deputy said things then escalated further from just pushing and shoving.“He picked up a baseball bat and hit her with the butt of the bat on her forehead,” Glenn said, noting the impact left a large bump on her head.The victim fled the scene once she had a chance and went to police headquarters to report the assault.“She was in fear for her life,” Glenn said, noting pictures of her injuries were taken when she reported the crime.
