Criminal Trial and Arraignment Dockets were heard in General Sessions Court on Tuesday, Feb. 13 by Judge Ryan J. Moore. Included in Tuesday’s actions:
• Amanda Anne Barnby was sentenced to 20 days in jail on two failures to appear, plus court costs on each case.These sentences run consecutively.
• Jimmy Canaan Caldwell pleaded guilty to domestic assault and was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days on supervised probation, court costs and ordered to successfully complete an inpatient rehabilitation program and ordered to have no contact with the victim. He also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and was sentenced to 6 months supervised probation. These sentences run concurrently.
• Randy Lee Evans pleaded guilty to a violation of probation and his sentence was transferred to Adult Recovery Court and he was ordered to successfully complete the program.
• John A. Sewell waived his right of extradition. He is charged with fugitive from justice. This matter will be reviewed in March.
• Harold C. Tonix was sentenced to 10 days in jail, plus court costs for a failure to appear.
• Carmen Vargas was sentenced to 10 days in jail for failing to report to jail, plus court costs. She was also sentenced to 10 days in jail for failure to appear, plus court costs. These sentences run consecutive to each other and consecutive to her underlying sentence.
• Jeremy Jerome Bluing was ordered to pay restitution, make a $500 contribution to the economic crime fund, plus court costs. He is charged with theft. This matter will be reviewed in August.
• Kaleb Len Hayes was admitted into the Second Chance program and was ordered to successfully complete the Caring Dads Program, pay court costs and successfully complete an anger management course. He is charged with domestic assault. This matter will be reviewed in August.
• Samantha Mangrum pleaded guilty to theft of merchandise and was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days on supervised probation, plus court costs and banned from the victim’s premises.
• Chloe Grayce McElwain pleaded guilty to theft of merchandise and was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days on supervised probation, plus court costs, banned from the victim’s premises, ordered to pay restitution to the victim, and pay a $75 contribution to the economic crime fund.
• Wesley Paul Scott pleaded guilty to a violation of probation and was sentenced to 120 days in jail.
• Kayla Lashawn Simpson was admitted into the Second Chance program and was ordered to successfully complete an anger management course, pay court costs, and have no contact with the victim. She is charged with domestic assault and this matter will be reviewed in August.
