Foster Care Review Board members received some much deserved recognition during the luncheon and awards ceremony on Wednesday.
Many people involved in the foster care process gathered on Wednesday to recognize and celebrate the hard work of the Foster Care Review members. This is a volunteer board that has served an important role in the community since 1999 and some members have served since the beginning.
“The responsibility that these board members have is tremendous, time-consuming and difficult. Each of you have a passion for children and are making a positive impact in shaping the lives and futures of foster children in Warren County. On behalf of the court system we sincerely thank you for your dedicated service,” said General Sessions Judge Ryan J. Moore.
“Not everyone is made for social work. I mean some just aren’t cut out for it. If you are fortunate enough to be born in a glass bubble and everything was wonderful, that is not what you are dealing with in social work. Unfortunately all of you fine people see the worst of the worst that we have to deal with,” said Juvenile Court director Barry Dishman. “From the bottom of my heart I appreciate everything you do and the examples you are to the people in this community.”
The members who received awards are: Vickie Stoner serving since 1999, Phillis Nowlin serving since 1999, Louise Moore serving since 2000, Phillip Stout serving since 2004, Debbie Morgan serving since 2007, Lori Patterson serving since 2009, Kaye Connor serving since 2010, Mary Pugh serving since 2013, Tammy Love serving since 2017, Mindy Black serving since 2017, Debbie Helton serving since 2018, Jamie Jaco serving since 2018, and new recruits Lisa Boyd Hale and Elizabeth Mietling starting in 2022.
David Moore served since 2008 up until he passed away in July of this year. He was also recognized with a moment of silence in remembrance of him.
Each member was given an award inscribed with their name reading, “In recognition for your passion, unconditional commitment, and enduring dedicated service to the Warren County Foster Care Review Board. Thank you.”
