A man who got drunk and began popping off rounds with his pistol in his backyard off East Main Street has been released on time-served. The man, William S. Forth, 22, entered guilty pleas before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke on charges of possession of a handgun while under the influence. He was given an 11-month, 29-day probationary sentence and must pay $50 plus costs and was directed to forfeit his handgun.
