Pioneer Community Church held its first-ever Pioneer Christmas Market last weekend with plenty of treats, trinkets and treasures. The market opened Saturday morning with a yard sale in the gym, a food truck serving coffee and churros, Brazilian sweets and many vendors selling a variety of items.
Revelation Rescue Farms and Bone Cave Creations shared a booth but have very different businesses. Tehila Haverlandt of Bone Cave Creations had many crafty and handmade items like masks, egg cartons, coasters and more.
Catori Thomas from Revelation Rescue Farm had a bunch of home decorations made from scrapped wood. It’s usually a rescue farm for animals where you can actually go and see them, but they also make crafts from the leftover wood from an Amish community. This is the first time this year they’ve been able to vend at a craft fair due to COVID.
Megan Howard and Amanda Turner had a booth where they were selling homemade wreaths, ornaments and other Christmas items. They thought it would be a good way to raise money to send Amanda’s daughter to her dance competition in Disney.
Amy Lawrence was selling hot cocoa bombs which are, if you don’t know, similar to bath bombs. They are balls of chocolate that explode in your water or milk to create a different hot chocolate experience. Amy said she saw them online and thought she would try to make them and has now created a business out of it. They came in a variety of flavors, including peppermint, caramel or just classic chocolate.
Chasity Mahler of Mahler’s Crafting had a booth in the fellowship hall where she was selling homemade wreaths. She has been trying to get into a craft fair for a while, but Pioneer Community Church was the first to reserve her a spot.
All the vendors were eager to sell especially in unprecedented times. Pioneer Christmas Market was in a great location with plenty of space to give the business owners and local crafters the best possible fair experience.
