The man who died in a Monday morning home fire in Newtown has been identified.

Jimmy Dale Nolan, 47, is the victim, according to District Attorney General Lisa Zavogiannis.

The fire was called in Monday at 6:33 a.m. when flames were spotted coming from Nolan’s trailer at 148 Bridge Builders Road. Volunteer firefighters were on the scene in minutes, but the structure was already about 70% involved at that time, according to Centertown Fire Chief Phillip Prater.

“There was nothing we could have done to save this individual’s life due to the intensity of the fire and the spot where we found the body,” said Prater.

Mr. Nolan was an employee of the Grundy County Highway Department, who is survived by two daughters and six grandchildren. His funeral has been scheduled for this Sunday at High’s. Obituary information is available on page 2A.

Warren Coun-ty Animal Control is taking donations for the Nolan family. Donations can be dropped off during regular business hours Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Animal Control, 169 Paws Trail. Donations can also be made this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Animal Control during its special open house event.
