A teen burglar turned in to police by his father after he burned their neighbor’s home in Forest Park has been sentenced to serve a year in jail.The teen, Christopher Allen Howell, 18, was ordered by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to serve 360 days of a six-year sentence and make restitution to the victim after he entered guilty pleas to charges of arson and aggravated burglary.The incident happened late last year. According to McMinnville police detective Stuart Whitman, Howell’s father said his son came into their house carrying some items. He asked where they came from.“He stated he had broken into a house,” Whitman said of the conversation between father and son.They then heard a loud noise outside and went to investigate.“The father observed his neighbor’s house on fire,” Whitman said.The teen reportedly then responded, “Yeah, I did that.”Detectives say the house was a total loss.
