The inaugural Fall Fest by Three Sisters Candle Co. kicks off today at noon.

From 12 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Three Star Mall, the Fall Fest will see plenty of vendors to kick off the season of craft fairs.

Three Sisters Candle Co. owner Cassie Johnson said, “We had the idea back before the summer. We’ve been planning it since May.” The idea was thought of to encourage people to shop locally. “Our goal was to bring businesses and local artists to one area and bring shopping back to McMinnville.”

Many people choose to travel for more shopping options, but Johnson wants to show that McMinnville has just as much to offer. She estimated around 35 to 40 vendors will be present both days with a variety of goods.

Fall décor, jewelry, children’s clothing, snacks, purses and many more items will be available for purchase at the fest. Three Sisters Candle Co. will also participate with a booth of their own.

“We decided to try two days to get a bigger audience,” added Johnson. For its inaugural year, they’re hoping to draw in more customers that may not be available for a one-day event. She added that if one day isn’t enough, plenty can enjoy two days rather than just one.

The mall will host the vendors from noon to 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow with all of the businesses at the mall staying open for regular hours. Johnson organized the fest with that in mind so more local businesses and artists will be in one place at the same time.
