Pull out a light sweater and join friends and family this Saturday for an outdoor fall festival.
The Elementary will be offering its first fall festival Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Located at 601 School Street in Morrison, the event will take place in the parking lot. Admission is free.
“We’ve had so many community events to be canceled that I thought let’s offer something for the community to do and see how it goes so that’s what we’re doing,” said Bernadette Doud, who owns The Elementary with her husband. “It’s going well so far. We had hoped for 20 vendors, but we have about 45. This could be a perfect opportunity to come together and support these vendors. So many of them have been affected by event cancellations.”
Among items offered will be crafts, clothing and food. The food will include fried Oreos, candy apples, funnel cakes, homemade baked goods, tamales, walking tacos, fries, chicken strips and more.
For parents looking to browse, there will be bounce houses available for their children.
“We will have one or two bounce houses,” said Doud. “They will be unlimited. While moms and dads are shopping, the children can enjoy a bounce house.”
There will also be live music, or a DJ, business booths, direct sales vendors and nonprofit booths.
