A Disc Golf Tournament is being organized for all ages to be held at Pepper Branch Park. The deadline to register is May 2 at the Civic Center.

Players have until May 12 to practice their power shot for the first Disc Golf Tournament held by McMinnville Parks and Recreation Department. The deadline to register is May 2.

“It’s a hole-in-one tournament called Chase the Ace,” said Kyle Clyde, event coordinator for Parks and Recreation. “Everyone who signs up gets a new disc to use during the tournament. The competition is open to all ages and all skill levels. Holes will be shortened to level the playing field.”
For those not familiar with disc golf, Frisbee golf may ring a bell. The event will be held at Pepper Branch Park.

May 12 could be just the beginning of a Disc Golf League in Warren County. The intent of the initial competition is to establish a league over the summer and offer a tournament in the fall, as well as eventually expand the current course, place concrete tee pads and improve signage.

Register at the Civic Center up until May 2. Cost is $15 per person and registration includes one Undisclosed Innova Disc, score card, Chase The Ace logo window sticker, one Innova Disc Golf pencil, and a chance to play for Innova brand prizes.

Disc golfers will be allowed to pick a preferred tee time between 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. However, times may have to be changed and assigned.
