Dillon's driving draws deputy to drug discovery

A man who slammed his SUV into a tree as he passed a deputy and then tried to run away has been charged with drug and evading counts.The suspect, Timothy W. Dillon, 36, is charged with possession of meth and evading arrest. He will face hearing Jan. 31.His charges come after sheriff’s deputy Jared Jacobs saw a 2002 Chevy Tahoe speeding as it traveled down Merry Oaks Road.“As he approached, he increased his speed,” Jacobs recalled, noting a short time later the driver lost control. “The vehicle, while driving at a high rate of speed, ran off the roadway on K. Prater Road and struck a tree.”The deputy pulled up to help the motorist but found the driver didn’t want help.“As I approached the accident scene, I observed the white male passenger flee on foot,” the deputy said, noting he called for the suspect to stop but was ignored.
