There was a heavy police presence at the intersection of W. Main Street and N. High Street Tuesday evening after a man reportedly ran a red light and struck a Sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle.

On Tuesday at approximately 4 p.m., first responders were dispatched to a wreck with injury involving law enforcement at the intersection of W. Main Street and N. High Street. According to Trooper Ben Cannon, Signal Mountain resident Justin Taylor, 27, was traveling east in a 2009 Honda Civic. Cannon says Taylor ran the red light and struck the deputy’s patrol vehicle.

Deputy Hunter Bouldin, 26, was traveling north crossing W. Main Street in the 2000 Ford Explorer when he was struck. The Honda Civic sustained damage to the front bumper. Taylor and his passenger, 23-year-old Jocelyn Blevins, were checked for injuries by EMS. No one was seriously injured. All involved refused transportation.

Taylor was cited for running the red light and for a registration violation.
