Main Street McMinnville’s Board of Directors has new leadership. Cliff Davidson has been named its president.
“If you need me, I will do it,” said Davidson, after being nominated for the position and unanimously voted into office during April’s meeting of Main Street McMinnville’s Board of Directors.
Davidson replaces Dan Sellers, who was appointed as interim president after the resignation of Mary Don Bixby in 2020.
“It has been an exciting six months of doing this,” said Sellers.
Davidson, who voiced a belief that Raven Young would make a “great” president, suggested a couple changes to the remaining officers: Young appointed as vice president, and Rodney Boyd as secretary/ treasurer.
“If that would work for either one of you guys, unless you want to be president next, Rodney,” said Davidson. “The goal here is to do a ladder thing. The vice president would be the next in line to be president. As vice president, Raven would cover for me if I’m unable to attend the meeting.”
While Boyd voiced approval for a role as secretary/ treasurer, Young expressed hesitancy due to time constraints and being a relatively new member of the board.
Traditionally, officer nominations occur during the organization’s July session. The suggestions made by the new president were tabled until that time.
