Show off your ride for a good cause this Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Kids of the Community building on Cadillac Lane. A cruise-in is being held to support the organization.
“It is $10 per entry, no judging, and all the money goes to Kids of the Community,” said Blaine Wilcher, event organizer. “Bring your favorite car, truck, or motorcycle. The event is from 3 to 4:30 p.m. All entries will receive a dash plaque.”
“Kruise in for Kids” is in its first year and is the second vehicle-related event organized by Wilcher for a local nonprofit organization. Great Bodies Car Show and Swap Meet benefits Families in Crisis and is in its fifth year.
Kids of the Community is a community based, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the ideal that all the children in our community have the right to be important, the right to be recognized, and the right to learn fundamental core values from responsible adults. It is the philosophy of the organization that one-on-one contact on regular basis in structured activities with responsible adults can instill direction and impart a positive attitude to those children at risk.
“Look at each other’s rides and support a worthy cause,” said Wilcher. “Then, those that want to, will get in a line and we’ll cruise somewhere.”
Kids of the Community is located at 681 Cadillac Lane. For more information, call Wilcher at 743-2461.
