For a variety of different needs to help animals, including fostering, organization and photography, HAWC is holding a volunteer sign-up meeting at 6 p.m. at Warren County Administrative Offices on Locust Street in the Dogwood Room.

McMinnville Parks and Recreation is holding a Rook tournament at the Civic Center beginning at 9 a.m. The cost is $10 per team. Contact Kyle by Nov. 6 to register at 473-1212.

To help with medical expenses and basic needs, there will be a benefit for James Howard and his boys at Fairview Community Center at 5 p.m. There will be a meal and an auction. The menu includes fish or chicken, french fries, slaw, hushpuppies, white beans with dessert and drink. Any support of this benefit is greatly appreciated.

McMinnville Special Games is holding an event at Three Star Mall from 9 a.m. until noon. All you have to do is show up to receive a free window decal to any family with a special needs adult or child. For questions, call Holly McBride at 931-808-8816.

The First Presbyterian Church, 205 West Main Street, will be serving a free, traditional meal on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please call 473-2690 to reserve your meal before Monday, Nov. 19. Your phone call is needed so the church is able to purchase and prepare enough food.

There will be a Veterans Appreciation Breakfast and Program on Friday, Nov. 16 at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 10 a.m. The funeral home is working with the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064 in presenting the program.

There will be a chili supper Nov. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Warren Masonic Lodge across from the fire hall. The cost is $7 per plate. Everyone is welcome.
