The Historical Black House will be offering its annual Spook-o-ween tour on Oct. 28 and 29 from 5 to 9 p.m. each day. The tours will feature various spooky scenes in each downstairs room with treats at the end. Admission for children under five is $3, and all other guests are $5. All proceeds are used to manage the maintenance of the Black House.


Oct. 29


The annual Fall Warren County Master Gardener sale will be held at the farmer’s market on Oct. 29 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. “Ask the Master Gardener,” fall planting tips and plants will be available to visitors.


Midway CIC will be hosting its Halloween and Workers Appreciation Party on Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. Meal will be provided and guests are asked to bring chips, desserts or drinks. There will be a costume contest for those interested in dressing up.


Dayspring Community Church, located at 4295 Smithville Hwy., will be hosting its Trunk or Treat event on Oct. 29 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event will feature a cake walk, hay ride, bounce house and all kinds of candies. Trick-or-treaters must supply their own bag.


Oct. 31


Shiloh Community Church will be hosting its Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31 from 4 to 7 p.m.


Nov. 5


Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville is returning with its Coats for the Community coat drive on Nov. 5 at West Elementary School's gymnasium, located at 400 Clark Blvd. Coat donations are still being accepted leading up to the coat drive and can be dropped at The Family Resource Center, The Red Berry Salon and MES.

Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department’s Haunted Tail is offered from dark until 11 p.m. each Friday and Saturday night in October. Admission is $10. Ages 5 and under are free. Concessions offered. T-shirts available. The trail is located at 1876 Bone Cave Mountain Road, Rock Island.
