Warren County High School’s Class of 2025 is set to walk the stage Friday and embark on the next chapter of their lives.
Scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Nunley Stadium, hundreds of students are expected to receive their diplomas and move onto higher education or the workforce. This year’s valedictorian is Lauren Slatton and salutatorian is London Caten, and the two will be given an opportunity to provide a speech to their peers and the amassed friends and families who have come to honor the graduates.
Per this year’s rules, students are expected to behave appropriately and no inflatables will be allowed. There should be no decoration or monogramming on graduation caps and gowns.
Rehearsal will begin at 9:30 a.m. on the day of graduation and is required for all seniors. The students are required to be picked up via bus from Warren County High School (WCHS) at 5:30 p.m., and the buses will leave at 5:45 p.m. They are expected to arrive close to 6 p.m., at which point students will line up on the track to be counted present.
At 6:45 p.m., the procession will take place followed by the graduation ceremony at 7 p.m. Thirty minutes after graduation concludes, buses will leave to return to WCHS for students who wish to take it.
With a chance of rain on Friday, a contingency plan has been created in the event graduation must be postponed Friday night.
The rain schedule is set for Saturday and no buses will be offered for shuttling students to Nunley Stadium. Students must be present and lined up on the track at 5 p.m. to be counted present. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Should Saturday also be a wash out, a third date of Monday, May 19, has been set for the same times.
For security reasons, no one is permitted to be on the field before or after the ceremony for the rain schedule dates.
The Southern Standard’s special tab for the graduating class will be published on Friday.
