City eyes updates to Ramsey Park

Upgrades for Ramsey Park could be on the horizon and the City of McMinnville wants your input.

The park is named in honor of Leroy Ramsey, a Korean War veteran who died in the war in 1953 at 23. It resides next to the Bernard School location, which now belongs to Young Men United. Through grants, the city is hoping to rejuvenate the park located at 125 Bernard Drive and give it additional utility for the community.

A survey has been posted by the city and offers participants the choice of three different sets of playground equipment, exercise gear and a space to recommend other amenities for the park if those are not to their liking.

It is currently outfitted with a pavilion which can seat up to 60 individuals, an outdoor grilling, seating and a basketball court.

The survey is currently available on the city’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/CityofMcMinnville.
