An empty pack of cigarettes helped police arrest a suspected killer, according to court documents in the murder of Barry Cole.The alleged killer, Wesley (Lex) Leverett, 25, is charged with criminal homicide for the death of the 55-year-old ex-Marine whose body was found by his mother on the afternoon of Feb. 6. He had been brutally beaten and stabbed to death.“She found the front door locked,” states the search warrant seeking Leverett’s DNA for analysis. “When she made entry, she found her son lying on the floor.
