Junior Auxiliary’s annual Christmas in the Park will kick off at 6 p.m. this Tuesday, Dec. 7.
“Our opening ceremony begins at 6 p.m.,” said Junior Auxiliary member Ashley Roberts. “Right after that, we will light the Christmas tree. It’s always a beautiful sight to see.”
Santa Claus will be on hand during the two-hour event and posing for pictures at First National Bank.
After visiting with Santa, children can participate in a variety of activities and receive treats. Among the activities, children can call the North Pole – a toll free call – and decorate an ornament they can take home for their tree. The phones will be located by the fountain. Ornament station will be located at McMinnville City Hall.
“There will be many downtown businesses open and offering a variety of Christmas treats and drinks,” said Roberts. “
Among the performances will be Paula’s Dance Academy, the Warren County High School Pioneerettes, the Warren County High School choir, Warren Arts, and more.
A luminary presentation will be announced during the event. Luminaries are $10. Anyone interested in purchasing a luminary for a friend or loved one, and/ or donating canned goods to stabilize the luminaries can contact Junior Auxiliary through email at email@example.com, via Facebook, or any Junior Auxiliary member.
Canned goods will be donated to the Warren County Emergency Food Bank after the event.
Sanitizing stations will be available throughout downtown and masks are encouraged.
Junior Auxiliary is a service organization which strives to enrich the lives of children in the community and provide family friendly events. Junior Auxiliary organizes Coats for the Community and Hopping into Health, among other activities.
