Anyone interested in entering McMinnville’s annual Christmas Parade has a little extra time to submit an application as the deadline has been extended till Nov. 26 due to the holidays.
Originally the deadline was set for Nov. 25. However, McMinnville Civic Center, where applications should be picked up and dropped off, will be closed that day for Thanksgiving. Applications will be accepted Saturday at the facility from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“The deadline will be Saturday the 26th due to us being closed on the 25th for Thanksgiving,” said Kendra Foust, McMinnville Parks and Recreation program coordinator. “Currently, we have over 30 applications picked up and have 15 that have been returned. Generally, we have between 30 and 40 entries and we expect approximately the same this year.”
With its theme of Christmas in Toyland and World Series champion Lester Strode as grand marshal, the parade is slated for Saturday, Dec. 3. Lineup begins at noon at McMinnville Civic Center. The parade begins at 2:30 p.m. and runs its traditional route down Main Street.
No entry forms will be accepted after Saturday or the day of the parade.
