Car burglar jailed

A woman has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for burglarizing a car in a church parking lot while Sunday morning services were held.The burglar, Amanda Crook, 28, has been ordered by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to serve 90 days of a one-year sentence and make $94 restitution for her crime.“The victim left church to find her unlocked car had been burglarized,” said McMinnville police officer Stephen Daniels, noting the break-in happened in the parking lot of East End Church of Christ on Sparta Street. “She checked her account balance and found her debit card had been used at the Dollar General located across the road from the church in the amount of $94.”Stephens had Dollar General pull its footage from the time of burglary and saw Crook and another woman shopping.Police advise motorists to always lock their vehicles. Car burglaries have been prevalent in recent weeks.
