Already facing multiple indictments, a local man found himself on the wrong side of the law again last weekend after being arrested for aggravated assault.
Layne Michael Brindley, 27, was arrested last Saturday, Sept. 14, after deputies were dispatched to his location following a report of a verbal domestic dispute. According to the report filed by Warren County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Logan Kell, deputies arrived on the scene and began interviewing parties involved, including the alleged victim, who had a brief verbal altercation outside the residence on Bethany Rd. before attempting to re-enter the home.
Brindley allegedly followed the victim back into the residence and a physical altercation began inside the residence with Brindley allegedly choking the victim. Brindley was determined to be the primary aggressor and was transported to the Warren County Jail, where he remained as of Thursday’s press deadline on a $20,000 bond. If he makes bond, Brindley will be required to wear a GPS monitor and have no contact with the alleged victim.
In addition to his latest charges, Brindley is also awaiting trial on multiple charges after being indicted by the Warren County Grand Jury during its August session.
According to the indictments, Brindley is charged with simple possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while his license was cancelled, suspended or revoked. All three of those charges are misdemeanors, while his latest charge is a Class C felony, and can result in a prison term of between three and 15 years, as well as a fine of up to $10,000.
