A Morrison Street paving project, which includes the city’s first bike route, has been awarded and work is slated to begin.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation has awarded a resurfacing project, which includes State Route 286, as well as a section of State Route 55, to Tinsley Asphalt for $2.9 million.
“A preconstruction conference was recently held and the contractor will begin work soon,” said TDOT spokesperson Jennifer Flynn. “The project completion date is on or before Oct. 31, 2020.”
Morrison Street resurfacing will include a bike lane through an enhancement pavement marking and signing plan.
