Wonderland of Trees is underway and has attracted visitors galore.
Plenty of people have placed their bids on every tree and decoration on display. Dianne Sneed of Caring Hearts United said they’ve been working 12-hour days for the past two weeks perfecting the event. The work isn’t finished yet.
The auction is in its final two days and ends tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 21. Bidding closes at 8 p.m., and the bidders are already getting competitive.
Sneed said, “I went to check up on a tree to see the current bid and a lady started running toward it to check if someone was bidding on it.”
Another Caring Hearts United member said there has been a lot of strategic planning with the bidders.
Friday and Saturday are always the busiest days with live entertainment. Frankie Wood is a local country artist performing Friday at 6 p.m.
Saturday there will be performances by Paula’s Dance Academy, Beth Cooper & the TN Hollow Band, and Sneed’s baby sister Beth Harris from Dayton. Starting Saturday, the children’s activities will open for just $1 each with ornament making, ring toss, bowling and much more. Sneed’s said her granddaughter was excited about the bowling because she remembered it from last year.
The bake sale has plenty of treats like Chex Mix, peanut butter pie, and tiny cakes. The Wonderland Christmas Store also has plenty of decorations for purchase if bidding isn’t your thing. Ornaments, wreaths and even masks are being sold.
The “Feel You in My Heart Tree” is there where you can write a loved one’s name on an ornament and hang it in their honor. Those trees will still be standing through New Year’s where your loved one will be remembered. There is also a raffle to win stocking stuffers. If you make a small donation, your name will be entered for a chance to win gift cards from some McMinnville merchants.
Wonderland of Trees is a free event with opportunities to buy decorations, win prizes and eat! Money raised goes to a great cause with Caring Hearts United to bring joy to hospice patients through care packages during holidays throughout the year.
