Bennett to take over as School Board chair
Longtime principal and coach James Bennett is taking the helm as School Board chair.

There was a changing of the guard at the last meeting of the Warren County Board of Education with longtime principal and coach James Bennett taking the helm as School Board chair.
“I think she has done an outstanding job,” Director of Schools Bobby Cox said of outgoing chair Helen Martin, who has served the past year. “We all appreciate her service and hard work.”
Martin was the member who nominated Bennett as chair. He had served as vice chair for the past year. Her motion was unanimously approved to make Bennett her successor. She also nominated freshman board member Teddy Jones as vice chair, a nomination that was also unanimously approved.
“I want to thank you for trusting in me to head the board,” Martin said in passing the gavel to Bennett. “We have always put the students as our No. 1 priority.”
Martin says she looks forward to serving as a member of the board with Bennett as its leader.
“I think we have accomplished many milestones and hope to accomplish many more for the students of Warren County,” Martin said.
The School Board chair serves a one-year term.
