After one year in neutral due to COVID-19, Back to the Strip is ready to get in gear and hit the road this Saturday.
According to event organizer Mary Walker, the day’s events will kick off with a cruise-in at Tim’s Motors next to KFC from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no admission fee and people can bring canned goods and pet food as in-kind donations to Meals on Wheels.
Then at 4 p.m. the show moves down the road to the front row of the parking lot of Warehouse Discount Groceries, formerly Foodland Plus.
A T-shirt booth and DJ will be on hand, canned goods and pet food donations to Meals on Wheels will be accepted, and folks are encouraged to ride the Strip, which means to drive back and forth on Smithville Highway.
Walker says of the event, “It usually tapers off in the 10 p.m. to midnight area. There’s been years it’s died off a little early, but if the weather’s just perfect sometimes they’re still riding at midnight.”
