Some people loathe it while others love it, but however you choose to feel about it, school is coming back soon.
Young Men United and Underdogs Fighting Odds are pairing up to help others get ready for the occasion.
On Saturday, July 22 the Back 2 School Bash will be held at the Young Men United Community Center from 2 to 5 p.m. The community center is located at 103 Bernard Drive, and Young Men United member, Rita Ramsey said that everyone is welcome and invited.
“We have been doing this annually and we try to do it before tax-free weekend,” said Ramsey. “It gives some of the parents a little break. Each year, we give away over 150 backpacks filled with supplies. We also like to donate some supplies to some of the local schools in the area.”
This year, Young Men United has partnered with Underdogs Fighting Odds, an organization that works with youth basketball players. “This year we hope to be bigger and better than ever, but have supplies for everyone,” said Ramsey.
Young Men United is pleased to be able to give back to the community.
“The members of Young Men United strive to make McMinnville and Warren County a great place where we can help one another. This is the organization's 25th anniversary this year, and we are proud of the things we do in and for the community,” said Ramsey.
Along with school supplies, the Back 2 School Bash will offer free haircuts, food, games and will have some giveaways up for grabs as well.
