

Four families were displaced and the possibility of arson is being investigated following a fire Thursday night at Arms Apartments.
Severe damage was inflicted on L Building of Arms Apartments, but everyone inside was evacuated and no injuries were reported, according to McMinnville Police.
Agents with the TBI Bomb and Arson Division were on the scene Friday, but no additional information was provided.
“The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time and we don’t have any other details to provide at this stage,” said TBI spokeswoman Susan Niland.
McMinnville Fire Department was called to the scene Thursday night at 6:25 p.m. after smoke was reported coming from an apartment. At the height of the fire, flames shot through a window. Firefighters extinguished the flames and left the scene at 8:23 p.m., the report indicates.
It hasn’t been revealed what prompted authorities to believe foul play is involved.
Arms Apartments is located across the bypass from Walmart just behind NHC.
