Always call 811 before digging
Anyone planning to dig – or remove a sidewalk – in Tennessee must call 811 in order to notify operators of underground facilities of the proposed excavation. The free service gives utility companies an opportunity to mark where their lines are located. McMinnville Public Works Department unearthed a Middle Tennessee Natural Gas line Thursday morning during a sidewalk replacement project.
