Samar Ali remembers an indescribable sense of peace in a land scarred by thousands of years of strife, misery and turmoil.
Ali and her mother, who grew up in Damascus, were visiting the Syrian village of Ma’lulawhen they called on an assembly of Christians at worship.
“They were reciting the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic,” the ancient language spoken by Jesus and his disciplines.
