The Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a raise of $37,000 for City Administrator Nolan Ming in November, though not unanimously. The board was informed Ming had received word he was one of four finalists for a position as city manager in another Tennessee community after throwing his hat into the ring. In a statement, Ming indicated the position likely would have doubled his current salary with McMinnville. This information was divulged to the board and city staff, prompting discussions and eventual approval for his raise.
