Local girls return from California with top honors

Warren County High School students traveled to California earlier this month and brought back gold medals for two local community service projects – X the Text, and Traveling Pants.This year’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America 2011 National Leadership Conference was held in Anaheim. Approximately 3,500 students advanced from local, regional, and state-level competitions to reach nationals.More than 6,300 members, advisers, alumni and guests from across the nation attended the meeting. Among those were local FCCLA advisors Ann Terry and Suzanne Prater, who accompanied WCHS club members Lindsey Basham, Elizabeth Whitaker, Makailah Bleedner and Hunter Keeton.“We couldn’t be happier,” said Terry.
