Lions Club starts program for kids

The Warren County Lions Club recently made history by inaugurating the first Lions Club Cub program in the county.The Cub program was introduced by Lions Club International as a way for children who have family members in the Lions Club to learn about community service. Cubs are the children and relatives, age 12 and younger, of Lions Club members.Geri Lefever was inducted as the first Lions Club Cub during a regularly scheduled meeting of the Warren County Lions Club which took place at Billy’s Restaurant in January. She is the daughter of Dan Lafever and niece of Warren County Lions Club Lions members Brenda and Dale Lafever.According to the Lions Club International website, “Studies have shown that if children begin to be involved in volunteer service projects at a young age, they are more likely to continue in adulthood.
