Link jailed for marijuana

A man who pulled out in front of a police officer will serve 30 days in jail after lawmen smelled marijuana on him when he was stopped.The driver, Jay A. Link, 30, was directed by General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to serve 30 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence and pay $1,000 plus costs. He will report to jail next month to serve his sentence. The remainder of his time will be spent on probation once he serves his month behind bars.His sentence comes after he pulled his Nissan into a police officer’s lane of traffic on North Chancery Street just after midnight.He was pulled over for failure to yield.
