Magness Library officials have made a costly decision in the upkeep of their historic downtown building.“This is the right thing to do for the building,” said Library Board chairwoman Pat Bigbee. “It was a big decision for us. We didn’t make it lightly, but we felt doing this work could not wait.”What the board decided to do was to use library funds to repair a decorative column that broke in mid-January and protect the building’s limestone facade from future damage with a sealant.
