Kirby to return to Middle East

McMinnville native Dr. Trey Kirby was part of the invasion that toppled Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in 2003. Now he’s set to return to the Middle East for a deployment in another hostile region 75 miles east of the Iranian border.Dr. Kirby is set to leave Friday for a three-month deployment as part of the National Guard’s 684th Area Support Medical Company out of Ohio. The group is known as the “Med Dogs.”“My main concern is what’s going to happen between Israel and Iran with their nuclear standoff because I’m going to be just 75 miles from the border,” said Kirby.
